Get to know Comunity Soul
Community soul is a christian led cafe and community centre based in and around the Wallasey area. The cafe provides a focus on loneliness and wellbeing, allowing people to stay for as long as they want.
The cafe also provides a strong sense of community, putting on various events such as open mic nights, late night suppers and sunday church events.
The cafe is run by both paid staff and volunteers from the local community, wanting to provide a safe and welcoming environment to those who need it the most.
The impact of loneliness...
Loneliness is something which we as a collective are all susceptible to. Loneliness is also one of the leading causes of depression within the UK and has been heavily linked to mental health issues.
Community Soul is trying to directly combat this by building individual relationships with their customers and encouraging
them to stay in the cafe for as long as they want. They also have community building events such as the open mic nights where they encourage people from the community to come in and have a nice time, giving them both a place to go and
a sense of belonging.
Work like this is extremely important within a community and can help anyone feeling unhappy or alone.
